PRESS RELEASE
Global United Distributing, LLC sets up shop in former Leblanc headquarters
April 19, 2013, Kenosha, WI -- The clarinets and saxophones that could be heard as they were crafted and tested within the walls of G. Leblanc Corporation for over a half-century fell silent in 2008. But today, fine musical instruments are once again leaving the building's doors -- this time with strings at
tached. Formed in July, 2012, Global United Distributing (GlobalUD), specialists in the sale of pro- and student-level stringed instruments, announces its relocation to space within the former headquarters of the G. Leblanc Corporation. Steinway Musical Instruments acquired Leblanc in 2004 and moved all production to its Conn-Selmer facility in Elkhart, Indiana, in 2008, leaving the Kenosha factory empty. The Kenosha-based company 4J International purchased the building from Steinway in August 2012, bringing on GUD founder and president Tom Belotti as a tenant earlier this year, joining several other businesses that rent space in the iconic Kenosha site. "This is, in a sense, a real homecoming for me," comments Belotti. βI knew this building would offer everything I needed, from warehouse space to tryout rooms.β His current space is just a few doors down the hall from the office where he served as Accessories Manager for Leblanc between 1998 and 2003. Belotti has a 20+ year career in the music industry that spans retail, manufacturing, road sales and distribution.
βAt GlobalUD, we have the flexibility to cater to markets of all sizes, including string specialty shops, and we always have high-end instruments readily available,β Belotti notes. GlobalUD offers strong establish brands, instruments in the white and private labeling/house brands. With models to fit the needs and budgets of beginners, advancing students and professionals:
