I began decorating these retractable lanyard reels for myself and my friends and the word spread quickly. Every day I would get so many comments from both Flight Attendants and passengers that I decided to make a few extras and carry them with me. The more I sold, the more excited I became about creating new styles and colors. One day a passenger asked me if I had any reels in pink...she wanted to
get one for her boss and a few co-workers who work in Breast Cancer Research at The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. I had so much fun creating "The Pinks", and while I was making them I thought about the color pink and it's relationship to Breast Cancer, and Breast Cancer Awareness and Research. I decided that I would use the pink lanyard reels as my contribution to this cause, so I am donating 10% of sales of "The Pinks" to Fred Hutch. I am often contacted by my customers wanting to know where they can get more reels; they have worn one to work and now someone they work with wants one too. I have been asked many times if I have a website. I hope you find a special lanyard reel for yourself, a friend, a co-worker, a boss...or all of the above!
********** BadgeBling Anatomy **********
I begin with an excellent quality, 1.25" (32mm) reel. The casing is hard plastic and the interior spring mechanism has stainless steel parts. The 24" retractable cord is made from reinforced nylon, and my supplier advertises them as "good for 150,000 pulls". Suspended from the bottom of the reel is a vinyl strap with a metal snap for attaching your ID badge, and on the back of the reel is a metal hook that can be slid onto your clothing, or suspended on a chain around your neck. After preparing the front surface of the reel, I attach the centerpiece and the Swarovski Crystals using a 4-step proprietary lamination process to insure solid adhesion. The glue dries completely clear, so the brilliance of the Swarovski Crystals is not compromised. To preserve the life of your BadgeBling, please treat it with as much TLC as I have used to create it. If you feel that your reel has malfunctioned in any way within the bounds of normal use, please let me know and I will gladly replace it.
