I just finished setting up my very first Gibson SG with the automatic tuning system. It took me a while to understand how everything worked and at first was not sure about the accuracy of the unit. I have had a number of people out of frustration remove the tuners so... I was a bit sceptical. Turns out what is needed for the system to work properly is the guitar needs to be properly adjusted and the intonation settings need to be spot on. Any discrepancy in the intonation and the auto tuner will not function as designed . All in all it seems to be a amazing piece of technology capable of dozens of tunings at the push of a button. How cool is that !
