Friends and Valued Customers:
Thank you so much for your patience, compassion, and understanding during what has been an incredibly difficult time for our family.
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been navigating an intense and emotional medical crisis. A loved one was admitted to the neuro ICU and has undergone multiple planned and emergency neurosurgeries. As you can imagine, the situation has been overwhelming and terrifying, especially given the urgency and gravity of the decisions that had to be made on their behalf.
Closing the shop at the end of last week was not a decision I made lightly. But in the face of rapidly changing medical conditions—and needing to be fully present for someone who couldn’t advocate for themselves—it became the only option. I had to prioritize being there, minute by minute, to ensure the best possible outcome.
Thankfully, we’re now on the uphill side of this battle. While there’s still a long road ahead, the incredible team at UNC Chapel Hill has developed a structured and hopeful treatment plan. We are no longer reacting in crisis mode but beginning to move forward with intention and care.
I want to sincerely apologize for the delay in replying to your messages. I know how important your projects and orders are, and I never take your trust for granted. The swirl of emotions, information, and decisions left little room to respond thoughtfully until now—but please know, your business and support mean the world to me.
Starting this week, I plan to be in the shop from 10am to 6pm, and I’m ready to catch up, move forward, and talk about anything besides medical terminology (seriously—bring on the normalcy, please! 😂).
