The Sockeye (Red) Salmon continue entering the Kenai River with a much later than usual surge. Alaska Fish & Game has doubled the daily bag limit from 3 to 6 fish per person. Here is John Harney, Michael Silvers & Ed Netter with their limit of Reds fishing with guide Jason Simmons on August 7th. Could warmer temps/water be causing this delay in the salmon runs?

The Kings just keep comin'. BUT, it has been a complete bust this year on the Sockeye (Red) Salmon run. Mismangement by the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game has allowed the commercial harvest of the majority of the Sockeye Salmon. Fish & Game doubled the daily bag limit on Sockeye from 3 to 6 fish and we have not seen a single limit of fish come in this summer. Alaska Fish & Game does a terrible job managing the resource!!
