My sister and I come from a creative gene pool. Our mom and grandmother did crafts shows for years and upcycled years into denim quilts, one of their best sellers. Our grandfather hand painted everything from farm trucks to large signs for Pepsi. We could spot his hand lettering anywhere🥰. My sister apprenticed under our grandfather one summer and learned his skills of hand letters and she still uses those same skills today. She upcycled these old paint brushes and they pay homage to their relationship and his love for a good old brush. Lord thank you for the legacy our ancestors gave us, not only to point to You and have a relationship with you but also for gifting us with inherited creativity to share with others. May we be good stewards and honor You in all we do.

Love all of the “feels” of fall.
I love the crisp air.
I love the cool temps.
I love the colors.
And I love wearing cozy sweaters 🍁🍂🎃

This year I had to rise to the challenge of learning to make sweater pumpkins. Making sweater pumpkins was something our mom did for our booth spaces. It was how we could add fall and she could earn some bingo money 🤭. She’s been gone a little over a year now so season changes bring a few tears. More tears may have been shed this year as I watched countless YouTube tutorials, often jabbing myself with the long darning needle and figuring out the best way to not only make these pumpkins but also make our mom proud. I’m sure she’s getting in some giggles and man I wish I would have asked a lot more questions of her while she was here.

Advice today: love on your family, ask the questions, enjoy the seasons and all that they bring, learn new things, and lastly try not to jab a darning needing into your hand.

OKC bound today…Some days you work wherever you can 🤪 plus it keeps me distracted from the crazy road conditions we are going through right now 😵‍💫🫣.
I told my hubby that I think I need a car friendly craft caddy so I can have pencils, scissors, hole punchers, etc within arms reach. Thinking if we take the mini van next time I could set up a whole desk in the back 🤔. What are you working on this rainy day?
