Designs by Leohat Top Hats, Yarn, and Steampunked Whimsy, with occasional cats... So this is the Facebook companion to the blog and the Etsy store. Each hat is unique. Enjoy.

We make hats by knitting them out of high quality wool and other natural animal fibers and then felting them by hand onto pre-fashioned hat forms. Some forms we buy and some forms we make ourselves. We then finish our hats buy sewing on trims and hand crafted findings. We also make many of our findings and jewelry pieces used on our hats, and sometimes we sell just the hat pins. So far we're just

making top hats and mini-toppers but soon we hope to expand into making bowlers. We also hand-paint yarn. Sometimes we sell it and sometimes we use it to make hats.

Sorry to say we will not be moving back home. We are stuck here in Utah for another 3 years.
Leonard will finish his degree. I will work. And if the Gods are kind the kids will move out of the house.
We will not being doing any shows. The Etsy store is still live but we will mostly be using it to take special orders. Sorry for the inconvenience....

We will be presenting a panel on How To Steampunk Your Hat on Sunday! We are so happy to be able to participate and we hope to make new friends and see old ones!

Today's vintage brought to you by the ladies of La Belle Epoch. The incredibly large hats at the top are called Merry Widows. One of the more famous modern Merry Widow hats is Audrey Hepburn's derby hat in My Fair Lady. Now that is a Hat!
