Mom brag: my son Tucker (cute one all the way on the right) is an excellent writer (yes to bookstore upbringing) and has been working on game shows as a writer and a judge. All of those fact books we bought him as a kid have come to fruition. The newest show he worked on is “The Perfect Line” and airs on CBS tonight, 6pm in NY. Watch it!!! Pete went to yesterday with the Katonah Chamber for a new member series, a “Wine Walk” which the chamber organized for members to see new places and resources around Westchester. Caramoor is an incredible space right here in Katonah for music and gardens and community. With a new executive director at the helm this summer and a great team working there we expect to see a lot of new programming and lots of community engagement. How lucky are we?!

Hamptons round up…Book stores of course. Tasty snacks and dinners. Lots of sand in everything. Beach camping. Posh people in flowing linen. Card games and painting. Ferries. What we’re reading: Pete “Fever Beach”, Gretchen Christopher Moore “Anima Rising”
Must sees:
📚 Sag Harbor Books: Swag 100%. Cutest driftwood book section signs.
📚 Homeport Montauk Books: loved the walls covered in “graffiti” from customers.
🏄‍♀️Joni’s Kitchen Montauk: delish breakfast/lunch, cute surf vibes, outside seating.
🎣 Montauk Angler’s Club: casual restaurant right on the harbor. So cute and more down home than others. Loved it.
🥖 Sagaponack General Store: had to see of course. Movie set full of people. Quite the scene. But I’ll be honest it was GORGEOUS. So much envy for candy bins made from old postal boxes.
🍽️ The American Hotel: perfect service, gorgeous interior, and seriously great food and cocktails.
🍇 Wolffer Estate Vineyard: absolutely gorgeous, perfectly manicured vineyard with seating and a band. A lovely way to pass a Sunday afternoon.
♦️ Sag Harbor Variety Store: a little bit of everything! Plus the shop owner grabbed us a deck of cards after she closed because, lovely. Made our night.
🧀 Cavaniola’s Automat: a cheese and charcuterie automat! Open 24/7 for your emergency entertaining needs. Only in the Hamptons.

Finished my book club book and am ready to chat. Who’s joining me? Including some outtakes here in case you need to see what sort of thing you’re getting into. I love Christopher Moore’s writing. It’s so weird and he perfectly uses curse words and inappropriate statements like no one else. Bring your twisted sense of humor and I’ll share my weird Austrian wine pairing with you. Comment below if you’re coming so I know how much to get. September 11, 6:30pm at the Katonah Reading Room “Anima Rising.” Please buy your book from us physically, through for audiobook, or for ebooks, otherwise I will have my feelings hurt.

People are often surprised by what I read, thinking a book seller wants something serious, a classic or non-fiction book, something heady…but I just LOVE weird books. The crazier the character, the more sarcastic or inappropriate the better. Christopher Moore is one of my favorite authors. If you also like sparky repartee, ridiculous sexual innuendo, and crazy characters - he’s for you. He’s definitely not for everyone, but if he’s for you, we can be friends. Join me for my bookclub.
