TThe N Scale Architect was founded in 1991 by Russ Kaufman who has been active in N-Scale model railroading since the early 1970's. Russ started The N Scale Architect based on the encouragement of fellow modelers who thought that the scratch building plans that he had drawn up might be enjoyed by others in kit form. In the early 2000's, the N Scale Architect expanded their laser-cut kit line into

HO and Z scales with the addition of "Heritage Models" (HO) and "Nansen Street Models" (Z). These product lines not only include laser-cut structures but also detail castings and cast resin kits. Further expansion included the addition of styrene building sheets known as the "Model Builder's Supply Line". This line now features over 65 different patterns in Z, N, HO, O, G and 1/12th scales as well as nearly two dozen different styles of finely etched fencing in N & Z Scales. Most recently, the N Scale Architect has acquired the former ‘Shire Scenes’ range of N & Z photo-etched vehicle and scenic detailing kits, This acquisition added over 50 new items to the “Making-A-Scene-Etched” product line. Please take a look at our website THENARCH.COM. If there's something you don't see, please feel free to contact The N Scale Architect with your suggestions for new products and, of course, with any questions. Thank you for visiting !

Our latest N-Scale kit… the Colton Depot was built jointly by the Santa Fe and Union Pacific Railroads in 1927. Though neither railroad's flagship passenger trains stopped here, no expense was spared in constructing this attractive mission style depot. This depot survives to this day as commercial office space alongside an active BNSF mainline. This highly detailed kit features laser-cut components, photo-etched windows & grates, platform benches, four(4) different roofing styles, an interior support system and illustrated step-by-step instructions. Please visit our website THENARCH.COM for more details.

KCT Tower #2 was originally built in 1910 as one of nine interlocking towers that controlled train movements in the second busiest railroad hub in the United States, Kansas City. This kit is based on this tower before it was modified with two brick additions in the 1930's. It was later replaced with a modern brick structure in the 1940's that still stands today. This highly detailed kit features laser-cut micro-plywood components, self-stick trim & roofing pieces, an interior support system, illustrated step-by-step instructions and an open upper level floor plan to allow for interior detailing. See our website THENARCH.COM for more details.

The L&S later became a part of the Central Railroad of New Jersey who served this station until passenger service was discontinued in 1945. In 1976 this structure was completely restored by Northampton Area Historical Society. It now serves as their transportation museum and is still passed by Norfolk Southern trains. This highly detailed kit features laser-cut micro-plywood components, photo-etched details, custom castings, an interior support system and illustrated step-by-step instructions. Gold City Depot is based on the Virginia & Truckee Railroad (V&T) depot that was build in Mound House, Nevada in 1881. Mound House is located between Virginia City and Carson City and served as a junction point with the narrow gauge Carson & Colorado (C&C). The C&C was abandoned in 1905 and the last V&T train rolled through Mound House in 1938. This depot was later moved to Carson City where it reportedly still stands today. This highly detailed kit features laser-cut micro-plywood components, an interior support system and illustrated step-by-step instructions. In 1884 Amos G. Winters built a mill in Kingfield, Maine to grind grain brought in via the Franklin & Megantic Railroad (F&M) which was absorbed into the infamous Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes Railroad in 1898. Prior to 1916, boxcars filled with grain were brought into a covered structure within the complex for unloading. We chose to model this period of time due to its stronger ties to the railroad and made provisions for unloading standard gauge boxcars. This highly detailed N-Scale kit features laser-cut micro-plywood components, multiple roofing materials, an interior support system and illustrated step-by-step instructions. Complete your layout scene or diorama with our sack, barrel and crate assortments and vehicle kits. See our website THENARCH.COM for more details.
