🥦 It's National Farmer's Market Week and we wanted to recognize some of our Farmers Market Customers. We dont say this enough, we love our customers! Especially ones that have supported us all 25 years in business, visited us back in the Caves, and continually shop local by traveling to the markets for our plant selection!
This post displays pictures of real plant addicts (just like us), words of kindness from a customer we received last week in an email, and flower pics of some Phalaenopsis we will be featuring this weekend! The Market has a way of creating family by bringing Vendors, Customers, Staff, and Community together! 💚

🍿🍿 The Popcorn Orchids 🍿 🍿

These beautiful 'buttery yellow' Orchids are finally in bloom! They are so tall, loaded with kernels (buds), and potted in bright yellow pots to match!
Get these on Saturday while they're HOT 🔥
(City & OP Market only due to limited quanity)

💛 Fun Fact #1: As a young girl my father (David) educated me on this particular Orchid and it has always been a favorite of mine since childhood!
💛 Fun Fact #2: David Bird eats a bowl of popcorn almost every single day! Well maybe not everyday but he tops it with a generous amount of Parmesan Cheese and it is his signature snack!!

↩️↔️ Switching it Up ↔️↪️

On Saturday @ the Overland Park Farmers Market you can find David Bird working the booth!! A little switch up as he is usually always selling at the City Market location! Go say Hi 👋, check out the pretty plants, and enjoy the New Clock Tower Landing if you haven't experienced it yet! Hours are 7:30-1pm

Also, back to the Lee's Summit Market (Green Street) on Saturday from 8am-Noon. Lots of Carnivorous plants will be heading over there this week including Venus Fly Traps, Butterworts, & smaller sized Nepenthes!

NO City Market this weekend but will be returning there next weekend, Saturday August 1st!

💐 BUDS & BLOOMS 💐

It's always fun to pick out a plant when it is in Bud!! Then you can watch the flower fully open up and enjoy its beauty for the entire duration of their cycle. This week the BAT Plants are in bud, the Lady Slippers are about to crack open, and more Zygos are beginning to show some color!!

➡️ THIS SATURDAY we are back selling at the Lee's Summit Market (Green Street) from 8-12pm!!
Also, find us at the Overland Park Farmers Market from 7:30-1pm!

**Our Summer Schedule seems to be fluctuating slighty and we will NOT be at the City Market this weekend or next weekend but will be returning on Saturday, August 1st.

🇺🇸 This 4th of July weekend we are taking some time to celebrate the Holiday with our Family & Friends! Therefore, we WILL NOT be selling at any of the Three Market locations this weekend!
(City Market, Overland Park, or Lee's Summit)

🩷 The PINK Plants will be @ the Overland Park Farmers Market on Saturday from 7:30-1pm.
Pink Bromeliads, Calatheas, Aglonemas, and Fittonias-some even potted in Pink Pots!!

❤️ The RED Plants will be @ The City Market - Kansas City on Saturday & Sunday from 8-3pm!
Red Bromeliads, Chocolate Orchids, Gladiolous, and Fittonias.

‼️Other Info: We will not be selling at the Lee's Summit Farmers Market this Saturday.
We will also not be selling at any of the three market locations next weekend in celebration of the 4th of July holiday!!

This Father's Day Weekend will be fun as each market location will be featuring different 'Plants for Pops'!!

Dad's LOVE deals so we will have Big Beautiful Banana's & Cannas for good prices. Also, some fragrant Jasmine plants and meaty Miranda's (Pitcher Plant for your bugs!)

🪴Overland Park Market🪴
●Saturday from 7:30-1pm●
The Primulinas and Streptocarpus are finally blooming with a special spotlight on the 'Pretty Turtles' (Primulina Dryas). Also, a really rare one called Primulina Sinovietnamica that is stunning!

🪴Lee's Summit Market🪴
●Saturday from 8-12pm●
This market will have colorful foliage, Houseplants, and Pineapples 🍍
Also, after this Saturday we will be absent at this location for the next three weeks, returning back on Saturday, July 18th.

🎥 In the Spotlight 🎬

It was an absolutely incredible Opening Day at the Overland Park Farmers Market last Saturday!!
The night before the market, Vashti was notified she was going to be on Fox 4 News in the morning to talk about the new space! Usually in these situations I will throw David in front of the camera (he is better at it than me). Nevertheless, the interview happened LIVE, with shakey hands and all, and it was fantastic PR for our business after being present for nearly 25 years/seasons at the market. A little while later the KC Star did an Interview on me as well!! Although I dont have the link to the broadcast-here are a couple pics of some media shots. The community, the vendors, and all the market staff are SO excited for this next chapter with Clock Tower Landing!!
