Seeking detail-oriented cabinet maker. Responsibilities will include working on a variety of projects including cabinets, display cases, wall units and more, utilizing materials that include wood, MDF, metal and glass.
Requirements:
* Self-motivated and Initiative.
* Ability to use a tape measure and work with fractions.
* Experience with power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment is a plus though not a requirement.
* High level of attention to detail.
* Good problem-solving skills.

This position is responsible for packing and crating customer orders in preparation for shipping & distribution. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
Essential Functions:
* Weighs and measures items and refers to packing sheets, and other forms in order to determine proper packaging.
* Wraps and packs items using preservative and packing materials.
* Must be detailed oriented and have good communication skills.
Basic Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Able to lift 30+ pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bilingual in Spanish and English
* Prior experience with crating/packing

Meet Jeremy, our November employee of the month.

Jeremy supervises our stock assembly department overseeing quality control and ensuring his team keeps up with demand for large fixtures including display cases, H-units, and wrap counters just to name a few.

Outside the office, Jeremy keeps busy creating and printing custom t-shirts, enjoying the outdoors, spending time with friends and maintaining his massive athletic shoe collection.

Jeremy will celebrate nine years with KC Store Fixtures next month and we are so happy he is part of our work family. He is committed to doing what’s best for the customer his fellow associates and provides quality fixtures that are key to our company growth.

Meet Tanner, our October employee of the month.

Tanner is a designer in the KC Store Fixtures Studio Division. He creates CAD drawings for custom displays requested by customers and creates detailed illustrations for our CNC machines to ensure the finished product looks just like the customer-approved renderings. We recently went through a large remodel in our manufacturing department; moving enormous machines, tools, inventory, and several aisles of industrial racking around to create a more efficient space. Before this endeavor could start, we needed detailed drawings showing where every piece in the puzzle would move to. This undertaking took several weeks and involved a lot of input, feedback, and changes from multiple sources. Tanners’ role was to continue updating and modifying the department layout each time something changed. His understanding of what was requested and timelines in getting it done were key to minimizing any downtime our manufacturing area could experience.

Outside the office, Tanner keeps busy chasing after a cutie that recently turned one. He and his wife are both very creative and talented and like to put their mark on anything they do. In his spare time, Tanner builds solid body electric guitars and is preparing to remodel their kitchen. We’re not sure where he finds the time to do it all with a toddler in the house, but he manages and always shows up to work with a smile on his face.

Tanner just celebrated his first year with KC Store Fixtures and we are so happy he is part of our work family. He is committed to doing what’s best for the customer and fellow associates and produces quality drawings that are key to our company growth.

Meet Steve, our September employee of the month.

Steve is our Special Projects Supervisor and has worked in several different roles; he currently helps oversee and coordinate one of our largest annual projects for a national seasonal retailer. Shipping to over 1,400 locations and a multitude of kitting variations, it requires a special person to bring it all together all while juggling weekly customer updates and changes. This year’s project was especially challenging and Steve always stepped up to see it through, often working very long days to ensure nothing feel through the cracks and store opening deadlines were met.

Outside of the office, Steve enjoys a slightly slower pace and country lifestyle. His home routine has included raising chickens, goats, quail and tending a garden in addition to the never-ending chores that accompany having a small farm. Coworkers in the office look forward to egg-laying season and the opportunity to buy fresh eggs. We also love hearing when a new baby goat has joined the farm family.

Last March, Steve celebrated 5 years with KC Store Fixtures and continues to be a key part of our team. His commitment to doing what’s best for the customer and producing quality results are key to our company success and are fortunate to have him as part of our work family.

Meet Chris, our August employee of the month.

What happens when one of the largest trucking companies in the United States halts it operations and files for bankruptcy? KC Store Fixtures recently found out. When YRC announced in August that it was ceasing operations immediately, our customers were left waiting for products they’d ordered and paid for. Items in transit when the bankruptcy was announced were now being held at YRC terminals across the U.S. with no way to deliver them.

In steps Chris. As part of our warehouse team, he serves as freight estimator and air traffic controller of sorts, for LTL shipments headed to customers, utilizing a variety of over-the-road carriers. In the weeks that followed the shutdown, Chris worked fervently to track down every shipment that left our warehouse on a YRC truck, to determine which terminal it was now stranded at. Next, he found new couriers who were willing, and able to cross the line of angry YRC employees outside of the terminal, to pick up the stranded items and get them delivered to customers.

Chris will celebrate 6 years with KC Store Fixtures in December and although this example is thankfully out of the ordinary, he often juggles the unforeseen shipping issues and delays that pop up on a regular basis with customers. His ability to remain calm, keep multiple shipments moving for our sales team, field calls and keep up with the ever-changing rates and fees from couriers, meant it was no surprise that he was our employee of the month.

Outside of the office Chris is a devoted father, and diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan who can often be heard discussing the latest trades, stats, and rankings of his favorite team with co-workers. His passion for football is only slightly overshadowed by his commitment to playing Powerball. Ever the optimist, Chris plans to win the jackpot each time he buys a ticket. Lucky for us, he has not hit the jackpot but in true Chris fashion, when he does win, he will take care of his friends at work.
