i sat down to read this book this weekend and did not stand up until i was done.

this is a book about the saddest thing that can happen to a person.

this is also a book about music, artists, and bands i do not know.

this is a book with passages I underlined for their crystal clear truths and also in creation of one of the most earnest playlists i have ever wanted to listen to.

this is a book that devastated, humbled, and invigorated me.

it made me newly alert to an opportunity to be...

biases & livelihoods aside, here is why we have some of the small treats kids ask us for and (we think) should be allowed, on occasion, to have from a bookstore:

because of all the places to find the things and experiences and surprises that thrill them, we want a small indie bookstore to be One, and if a modest treat opens a door to a bookstore, it also opens it to an opportunity to pique a young person with the question of which books they love and which ones they want to read next...and then our entire world gets to be a better one, surprise dumplings and All.
