Greetings, Vinylites. I apologize for the radio silence over the past several weeks. To say things have been difficult would be a subtle way to describe what I have been facing both personally and with the shop.
Earlier this past year, I've had to close the shop for periods of time to take care of my mom. As she was requiring more care, we were also facing the increasing costs of doing business, the spike in the price of new vinyl, and a looming rent increase of more than 30%.
Realizing that I was not going to be able to deliver the quality and consistency that I promised at prices that I believed were fair, I made the difficult decision that we had to close the physical location. This would also free me up to devote my full time to caring for mom.
Sadly, mom's condition did not improve and she passed away on Friday surrounded by her loving family.
I would like to thank each and every one of you for your support and patronage during the last 7 years. Thank you for being a part of my wild, wonderful world that I dreamed of ever since I was a little kid setting up my records and toys in my room for my mom and aunt and friends to "buy" at my "store."
I even thank the horrible, nasty, no-good customers too. Without them, I wouldn't have had the wonderful memorable conversations with mom on the phone about what we should do with people like that.
During the next few weeks and months, I will be auctioning off some of the higher priced items from the shop, my personal collection, and mom's collection (including her copies of Taylor Swift's The Lakes and Long Pond Studio Sessions) to help pay for expenses. Please watch our website, as well as Instagram and Facebook for more info.
IF YOU STILL HAVE A GIFT CARD, please contact us via email ( [email protected] ), Direct Message, or send a Text our store's phone number.
Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and kind words. Perhaps we'll be back in another form sometime in the future. Until then, and as always, Stay Groovy, Vinylites! Analogopolis Signing Off...
