If you refuse to move until every risk is gone, you’ll spend your life watching miracles happen to someone else.

God has never asked His people to trust what they can see. He asks them to trust Who He is.

The Red Sea didn’t part because Israel had a perfect escape plan. It parted because God was faithful.

The greatest miracles are usually waiting on the other side of obedience.

Stop demanding visible ground before you take the next step. Faith doesn’t eliminate fear, it chooses to obey in spite of it.

The God who made a way through the sea is still making ways where there seem to be none. 🙏🏻🤍

You can sit in church every week, know the Scriptures, serve in ministry, and still miss the One they’re all about.

Judas walked with Jesus, heard His teaching, witnessed His miracles, and still chose his own way. Nearness to Jesus is not the same as surrender to Jesus.

God isn’t looking for people who are merely familiar with Him—He desires hearts that are transformed by Him.

Don’t settle for being close to Jesus. Be changed by Him. 🤍🙏🏻

After the Winter we survived, that's still all too fresh in our minds, and the graduations we celebrated this past weekend, what we all need is a day of reprieve to pause, breathe deep, and bask in the sunshine that the Good Lord saw fit to provide. Encouraging Word will be closed today so we can enjoy the outdoors alongside you! Have no fear, we will be open for the rest of this week as the clouds roll back in and the rains return. Until then, enjoy this day while remembering to give God the glory! In Jesus' Name, Amen.

We're about to get teary-eyed just thinking about this...

Saturday, April 25th, the Mendenhall Mall is hosting a Youth Entrepreneur Market from 11am-2:30pm, and we couldn't be more proud to open our doors to the next generation of Juneau business owners.

These aren't just cute little booths (though they will be adorable). These are K-12th grade students learning profit and loss, public speaking, production costs, and what it feels like to create something with your own hands and offer it to your community. Plant starts, baked goods, hand-sewn creations, inspired idea... all made by kids right here in Juneau.

For the past 10 years, the IDEA Homeschool Program has been nurturing young makers and dreamers through this market, and we are so SO honored they chose the mall as their event's new home. More space, more walk-by traffic, more opportunity for these students to be seen and celebrated by their neighbors.

So here's what we're asking: Come out next Saturday. Bring a little cash. Buy something from a young entrepreneur. Ask them about their business. Show them that this community sees them, supports them, and believes in what they're building.

Because that's what we do here... we show up for each other. Especially when "each other" is a 7-year-old selling homemade dog treats or a high schooler offering lawn care services.

We're so glad you're here, mall family. Let's fill the halls and cheer these kids on.

As a fellow nonprofit, we understand the need for God-led community support. We are sustained by drawing together within the body of Christ and sharing resources with one another. Financially, let's rise up and meet the needs of The Alaska Youth Choir by purchasing a t-shirt and attending their concert on May 28 at the Chapel by the Lake! What a wonderful surprise for the choirsters to see a sea of their supporters wearing their t-shirts! Can you imagine? As the choir has made the leap from Jesus on the periphery to fully celebrating him, let's join hands with them as they rebuild on a firm foundation - The Rock on which we stand. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

We've added a new display into the Encouraging Word Bookstore at the Mendenhall Mall! A new display means we are able to put out more books and gifts for you to choose from! 🙌🏻 Also of note, the sales of our purses and bags have been poppin'! Get one for your mom this before we are all sold out!

This table was received for free from Chapel by the Lake this past Fall and used for a time in the Rainforest Play Zone. It would make a great crafting table or table in a preschool or Sunday school setting. It folds up and moves easily on wheels or opens up into a circle and becomes stationary. It seats up to six people comfortably with seating for four as an ideal if working on art projects that require elbow room.

The table is currently located outside the Encouraging Word Bookstore in the Mendenhall Mall just to the side of Suite #311. !
