Marliss turned 40 on 7/17! We went on a triple dog road trip to Joshua Tree with many stops and detours on the way.

Phoenix ➡️ three nights at Joshua Tree (with a day trip to Cardiff-by-the-Sea) ➡️ Tucson ➡️ San Lorenzo. We saw Joshua Trees, bats, the Pacific, a bunch of Saguaros, some Rufous hummingbirds, and the Milky Way.

It wasn’t the most restful vacation (so much driving?!) but it was gorgeous and I spent it with my favorite person and favorite creatures. 💓

TDoV- Trans Day of Visibility 🏳️‍⚧️ 💫
Hello, I’m Kai (they/them). I’m trans. I stay visible. I know I’m passing as a non-binary human being when people are visibly confused and struggle with how to refer to me. 👌🏻

I have diabetes and wasn’t really paying attention to it because of yknow (vaguely indicating the state of the world), but my healthcare provider got me a cgm (continuous glucose monitor) and it has honestly been a life changer for me. I am more aware of how my body reacts to food and exercise. It’s rad.

I’ve gotten very into hiking, and in March I’ve hiked 55 miles. Marliss has been dragged around on over half of those miles and I think she even enjoyed some of them! The first picture is after we tried to take Ruby with us but she needed to be airlifted out (and was later 100% healed by the power of treats).
