Today we had to say goodbye to the Cat's Meow mascot, Koko.
Koko was named after a character in Lillian Jackson Braun's book series "The Cat Who..."
The series main character wasnJames Qwilleran a big city journalist that moved to a small town way up north with his two siamese cats Koko & Yum Yum who help him solved mysteries and murders.
Our Koko came to live with us in June of 2011 after enduring a car accident and living with a guy that named him speed bump and was giving him up because he was getting married and the new wife didn'tlike cats. We took him in and I promptly re-named him Koko and he has lived out these last 13 yrs as a part of our family. He would have been 16 this summer. But he has joined my other cats George & Otto over the rainbow bridge. 🌈
Books and cats are two of my favorite things in life. If you are so compelled consider making a donation in Koko's name to Friends of the Forgotten Cat Rescue Inc. Or any other local cat rescue near you.

Grown ups can read YA and Kid books too. It's totally okay! They can be a relaxing read. A little easier on the brain and the stories can be so fulfilling!

We agree! Books CAN be medicine! Having books at home to access can be so good for you. You can still get books from us at our motherstore McLemon's where we are able to stock a small selection of our goods! Great books at a low cost!

We will be purging our inventory this Friday at our mother store: McLemon's in Johnstown. 10am-6pm
50 cent books AND Buy 5 Get 1 FREE
And we plan to keep a small selection available at the shop until Cat's Meow finds a new home.
