When we dropped off our daughter at the Boise airport for her 18 month mission to the Colorado Springs, Colorado mission, I knew it was going to be tough but it wasn’t like anything I imagined. I thought we’d have TIME to hug and say goodbyes away from the security line, away from the stares of the public eye. But, check in took way too long and we were too rushed and had to get in line immediately. And, before we knew it, it was time for us to step aside. My daughter wasn’t ready, I wasn’t ready. She seemed panicked and that made me worry. We stood to the side just watching her go through security, tears falling from my eyes and hers. I was able to witness the reassurance that Heavenly Father was very aware of her in that moment and was sending earth angels to help her. A young mom in front of her noticed our quick goodbyes and probably noticed our daughter crying and this young mom with 2 little girls close to her side just started talking to my daughter. I don’t even know what they were talking about but I saw my daughter change in that instant from panicked to courageous. I was so grateful for that young mom who saw an opportunity to comfort my daughter and did. It was such a small thing, but to us, it was exactly what we needed.
