Final thought on the rod, it out performed my expectations. It did everything I asked of it with ease. Over the weekend I threw Dry flies, Streamers, tight line nymphing and indicator nymphing on the one rod and it did it all flawlessly. If I could carry only 1 rod, this would be it, but we all know that is not going to happen. LOL.
Day two, a much slower start to the day. Everything they were hitting on yesterday, was not working today. Started from square one and tried to pull from my experience with this stretch of water, ( very limited ) and the weather, and being sunny and clear. Took me about an hour and a half, catching a few but nothing really consistent, but found a pattern that started working, an RS2 in a size 24. Sun went higher, it got warmer, and after catching 3 in 30 minutes, I changed up again to a size 22 black zebra midge with a green weighted Myers mini-leach, and then it was on. Finished out the day catching about 25 more fish before calling it a day. Somewhere between a few dirty looks from other anglers, and even a few trying to stand within arms length and cast where I have been for 30 minutes and cast over me, (please don't ever be one of those people) and it still didn't help them. In all honesty, if they wanted to know what I was doing or using to catch fish, all they needed to do was ask!
Anyway, although I have had days I have caught more, hard for me to ever think of a time I caught this many quality large fish. It was just crazy when I caught only 2 or 3 small fish, ( under 10") and everything else was 14" to 18”, and thick, here are a few from today.
