What does the inside of a 3D printed Mega-Axolotl look like?
It looks like this!!
The inside of many 3D prints are filled with infill patterns, creating strength while increasing print time and conserving materials so they go further. Contrary to what I thought, before I started to 3D print, a majority of 3D prints are not full, solid plastic filament!!!
Now, did I cut this print short just to show you? Ahhh..... Nope. 3D printing has a learning curve just like ANY skill!!! Printing is also at the mercy of the machine you have, what you know about speeds and settings, how you maintain your machine, AND what filament you are using!
For this particular print, the filament must have had a bad batch where there were a few inconsistencies in the thickness of the filament. This can cause numerous issues, in particular, causing clogs in the hot end and stopping it from printing (until you take it apart and fix it).
[A HUGE thank you to my techy husband who helps me problem solve some of my techy challenges!!!!!!]
3D printing is fun, and rewarding, and creative, but it is not easy money. Like doing anything well, it takes the willingness to screw up, learn about your machine, try it again, and again, and again, and then succeed! 😁
I am glad to be adding this fun service to Erin's Whimsical Treasure to help diversify our stock by adding this to our custom pin back buttons, embroidered keychains, and embroidered bookmarks. 💜
