Seasonal full time position runs from early March through late May, or even early July (whichever is best for you). Job starts week of March 6 with road work beginning March 20.

· Must be willing to work on road for 3-4 weeks in the greater Chicagoland area;
· Home for weekends.
· Road work involves assembly of retail fixtures for garden centers in a 4 person crew.
· Road work is up to 60 hours a week, with over-time at 40 hours.
· Travel paid
· Per Diem pay for food (tax free)
· Hotel expense covered by company.

After road work is done, work is in Jenison, MI, for order filling and light dock work in the greenhouse industry.

Useful skills included familiarity with small power tools and a small degree of mechanical inclination.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Schedule:

10 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Weekend work available

"Like so many of us in these difficult times my husband and I are looking forward to spring planting and digging in the dirt...it is so restorative for me! We journeyed to our local menards in Avon Indiana after I left the hospital laboratory today hoping to be safer and beat the crowds on this dreary wet day to procure geraniums for our numerous containers around our pool and deck. We found an abundance of BEAUTIFUL HEALTHY geraniums in a multitude of colors and purchased 60 plants!! They are such vibrant healthy geraniums I had to look at the pots and see where they came from. I see LFS grown in Jenison Michigan. I googled and found your website. I wanted to reach out to your family and workers to tell you how much I appreciate your hard work and dedication to growing these wonderful geraniums. They are currently on tables in our garage and we will be babying them for the next 10 days until we reach our average last frost date here in Brownsburg, Indiana. We will take them out in the sun when warm enough and protect them from the cold at night in the garage. In my mind we are ALL essential workers during this pandemic...your family and nursery is bringing joy to myself and so many others longing for “normal” ! I have no doubt these geraniums will flourish and bring color and light and happiness to all. I can’t wait to plant them!! I pray the day comes when our family and friends can gather in our backyard again to enjoy them also! In the meantime please stay safe and healthy and accept my sincere thanks and appreciation for giving me the joy and hope of spring and summer color at our home through these beautiful plants!!
