We had a wonderful visitor today during our bird count. This beautiful Cooper's hawk gave us a total of 35 species. We will be counting again tomorrow at the Birds-I-View bird garden. The more eyes the more species we expect to count. You can count at home also and send your info in for the Great Backyard Bird Count. Check how to report your birds in the previous post. I will have extra coffee, water and snacks for you. The scope and extra chairs will be set up outside at the side of the store.

Whether you see an infrequent guest at your space (like the Golden-crowned Kinglet pictured here we saw on Valentines Day 2022) OR a more regular visitor like this Carolina Wren from 2019....All bird reports are welcomed! The count runs through Monday, 2/16/26 so be sure to participate and contribute your bird sightings.

And now that we have the People Treats handled... we heard from your Chickadees, Tufted Titmice, and Downy Woodpeckers, and they said they'd LOVE an extra special treat for Valentines Day also! Maybe some of the Hungrybird mealworm suet bites or one of our "cranberry-stuffed" suet cakes. Just passing the message along!🙂

Is this a different Barred Owl? On our Sunday, Jan. 4th trip to see Regina's mom we saw this owl about 1 mile East of the previous location. Two photos with the Owl all puffed up was taken Sunday and the other was taken Nov. 23rd.

Happy 2026! This beautiful, unusual Cedar Waxwing visited our deck at home on New Year's Day 2015. Steve took two quick pics and we waited all day for it to come back but we never saw it again. What a beautiful bird and and a welcome start to a New Year!
