Our Story: The story behind Misa Jane is a personal one, but we want to share our journey with you – to let it be a reminder that women can overcome the most difficult obstacles and bloom into the brave, bold, and fearless individuals that God created them to be. At the age of 17, Sara’s life was forever changed by domestic violence and rape. Despite that, Sara chose to give life and welcomed her

baby girl, Merlissa “Misa” Jane into the world. Raising her child as a single mother and wanting nothing more than to give her the best life she could, they fled to Texas and began their new life together. Fast forward to the age of four, Misa expressed a strong interest in fashion design. She would doodle outfits and add embellishments on pre-drawn models to portray her very eclectic style. Now 11 years old, Misa has expressed an interest in attending a Fashion Design School. As a mother, Sara knows how incredibly important it is to contribute to and encourage her daughter’s future success, and it was then decided to create the “Misa Jane” store to set the foundation which her daughter could build on in the years to come. Spread Awareness: We strive to be active in our community and discover ways to have a positive impact on those around us. Raising 4 daughters, Sara believes in teaching them the importance of empowering other women and being compassionate, bold, courageous, and strong. Sara has a strong passion to raise awareness for Domestic Violence and Rape, to ensure other voices are heard. There is always hope for a better tomorrow. Over the weekend, I came across a quote that said, "Fear rises up whenever we feel out of control. Faith rises up whenever we remember God is in control."

And maybe that doesn't speak to you at this moment. But I wanted to share this simply because of the wholesome conversations I've had with a few ladies over the last couple weeks. Honest and somewhat scary conversations about motherhood, business, faith, marriage, friendships, and the disconnect through our own personal experiences with each of those topics. That disconnect can feel lonely! And loneliness can breed fear - isolation - guilt - trust issues... the loss of control. But I want to remind you: God never gave us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7).

So I want to leave you with a few verses to write down for a time when you're in a season of feeling stuck, and remembering WHOSE you are. 🤍

This week at The Granary:

•Thursday: open 5pm-9pm with a limited food menu, but we’ll have brisket tamales! And teachers/school employees—show us your work ID for 15% off your drinks!

•Friday: open for 11am-8pm with our full bbq menu (while it lasts!)

•Saturday: open 11am-8pm with our full bbq menu (while it lasts) and live music is back! Dan Guevara will be on the truck 1pm-4pm

•Sunday: it’s Sip & Shop day! We open for lunch at 11, vendors will be open noon-4pm, and live music with Lisa Perlet & Carissa Powell also starts at noon!

We love this warm, spring-like weather! Be sure and plan to hang out with us this weekend!
