Join us at Tillie Fowler any Tuesday evening of the year! This ride starts at or after sundown, so adequate lights are a must, and helmets are emphatically recommended. Many of us bike to the park from our rally point - 7:30pm outside Okinawa Japanese Grill House & Sushi Bar near the Publix on Roosevelt Blvd (4403 Roosevelt Blvd #105, 32210). Otherwise, feel free to meet us at 8pm via two wheels o
r four near the Yukon entrance to Tillie Fowler Park. Look for the MTBs and bike rack-bedecked vehicles parked outside of Murray's Tavern (4527 120th St, Jacksonville, FL 32244). Your BIKE: Tillie Fowler is a beginner-friendly park. There are more advanced features, but you should be able to manage most trails on a rigid frame, as long as you have rubber at least as wide as cyclocross tires. Some portions get VERY muddy after rain. LIGHTS: at minimum a bright handlebar-mounted light, but most riders recommend a helmet mount. ZenCog has several options for most budgets if you're looking for light. If you plan to bike home afterwards, please be sure to have a rear light as well. Your HELMET: remember, the integrity of your helmet lasts about three years, so if you're digging out your old turtle shell from 1997, might be time for an update
HYDRATION: A water bottle or two. Extra points for something you wear. During the summer and early fall, it stays hot in the woods long past dark. SPARE TUBE: Bring your flat-repair kit! At minimum, bring an extra tube that fits your bike. Someone will probably have tire levers and a pump, but no telling whether anyone will have a tube that fits your bike and tire. BEER MONEY: join us after the ride for a cold beer at Murray's Tavern!
