Refurbish

I know it's been a while, but Mark and I have been working on some interesting pieces. This small armoire needed some major work. We fixed it up for 2 little girls who are near and dear to us! We added the resin rosette appliqués to the doors and then painted. The inside~Sherwin Williams Antique White. The outside~Sherwin Williams Gray Matters. A little dark brown glaze and some gold gilding wax gives the piece some needed character. We will be naming each piece, for fun and to help us remember, and have christened this one "Charlotte. Why yes, I have been doing a few projects. This was a fairly boring brown chest of drawers that I picked up at auction. It needed a makeover desperately. A lovely coat of grayish blue (or bluish gray) paint and some new handles made all the difference! This piece was donated to a young friend who was having a baby boy. Perfect for a nursery don't you think?

Our sweet friends, the Dixons, are embarking on the wonderful journey of international adoption. Because it's so expensive, we wanted to help out by selling a few pieces of furniture for them. 100% of the proceeds from this sale will go into their adoption fund. This piece is a real community effort. It was donated to us, Mark added the legs and then I painted it. I love how the black paint makes the marble pop! This would be adorable in a powder room with a vessel sink. Send me a pm if you're interested! $300.

This chest of drawers was in really bad shape, but made of solid wood. I got it for next to nothing on Craig's list. Mark (the fixer) took it apart, reglued and nailed it and made it sturdy. It was missing one of the top drawers so we moved the one remaining drawer to the middle and found 2 small baskets to go on either side. This piece was a labor of love on our part. It became the changing table for little Sadie, our very first and most adorable grandchild. 😍😍 I used gel stain on the top, a new adventure for me, and I love it!

Look at this sweet little desk with curvy French legs! A friend asked me to refurbish it for her grandaughter. One of the legs was very loose so Mark had to work his magic on it. We chose cream colored paint with some distressing and glaze to make all the details pop. Love the original hardware. We painted the inside a beautiful aqua blue.

So, here's the before and after of my latest project. A friend got this buffet off the curb on trash day! The legs had been added at some point and just didn't go with the piece. All it needed was a little love and some paint.

I sold my first piece of furniture today!! The green side table has gone to a good home. 😉 The sofa table and little chairs will go on Craig's List right after Christmas so please message me if you are interested. Will be posting pics of new projects soon!

Love this sofa table! I think it's from the 50's when furniture was made from real wood by real people. It was in really bad shape but looks much better now. It's painted true black and lightly distressed. Has a lovely detail on front and back. $225
