We've paused book intake until June 15 for two reasons.

1. Moving around 30k books takes time, especially when you're tweaking the layout to make it easier for customers to find what they're looking for. Even though we're back open, we still have some sections to fix in the store.

2. Before the store reorganization, we did a deep dive into every section. We looked at sales data for the past three years. That data told us what people wanted (and what they didn't.) And it guided us in whittling down some sections or eliminating them altogether.

We simply don't have the space to keep authors or books that haven't sold in 3-4 years.

We also went through most sections and removed books that weren't in great condition. We only want to offer books that we would want on our own shelves at home. (This process will continue as we tweak the layout of the store.)

What this all means is: our book intake policy will change.

We want to provide you with the highest-quality used books.
Ones that are in demand.
Ones you want to read.

In the coming days, we'll share updates to our intake policy, including the authors or subjects we're no longer accepting.

We'll ask that you bring in NO MORE THAN ONE SMALL BOX of books at a time. (The amount that would fit in a paper grocery bag.) This allows us to get books into the system faster and out on the shelves.

We ask that those books be in good condition.
If they've been sitting in your garage or the trunk of your car for three weeks, waiting to be donated somewhere, they're not going to be in great condition to sell, and we will send them home with you.

We appreciate your understanding and encouragement as we update the store, and we look forward to your next visit.

This is why I created my studio, for children to create art. I think it’s SO crucial for our littles to use their imagination and their hands through exploratory or guided work. They are LEARNING, CREATING and opening their minds to the magical experience of art. Anyone, especially in their early years, can create so we need to give them the opportunity to do so! It gets more difficult when our mind starts to tell us we can’t.

Let them create whether they draw, paint, build, dig, or experiment. This is one of the most powerful ways to foster independence, problem solving and self confidence!

This piece was created by my three kiddos. Sally has been drawing these girls so we decided to add crowns and wings to make them fairies. Then the boys took over with the foliage. I am obsessed🥰

Maybe I should open up some time slots to do some family canvases this summer💚

As you enter the store, to the left, you’ll find a new layout on the way to Classics and the Children’s Room.

In this section, you’ll find University Press books, Franklin Library, Folio, Book of the Month, and those awesome Word Cloud Classics that our book dragons love.

You’ll also discover an expanded area for New Releases and an expanded “Book Club Reads.”

The Book Club Reads will include Reese’s Book Club, GMA Book Club, and Read with Jenna.

(Don’t worry, the Children’s Room hasn’t changed.)

Welcome to the fiction row.

Previously, in the store, we had fiction spread out in three different places.
Now, the fiction books are all in one main area.
This is the part of the store that previously housed history, Christian fiction, and the ends of shelving units.

Now, the hardcovers are on the left side of the row, the mass market paperbacks on the other, and straight ahead, you’ll find trade paperbacks.

In this aisle, you’ll find general fiction, women’s fiction, literature, and thrillers.

(Mysteries, Christian Fiction, and romance books have their own sections, but more on that later.)
