Our first open workshop in a LONG time!! But this time, we made it 3D!! Come join us at Holly Street Home in the Jackson Premium Outlets.

Over the summer, a good friend of mine was featured as the “Rad Human” on the kelly Clarkston show. (He is very rad 😉)
My friend, John, started the non-profit organization which uncovers the lineage and untold stories of some really amazing African American community members, leaders, veterans, slaves and more. (Check them out!)

He has asked me a couple times to make these lineage signs for the current descendants of some of these individuals that he’s uncovered.

One of these signs, was presented on the Kelly Clarkston show and I never shared it here! So, here is the clip! And my sign!

Hi friends,
I’ve gotten a lot of messages asking where I’ve been.

I’m here, but I’ve been working.
After almost 10 years of this adventure, with many twists and turns, I decided to go back to work and give that “world” another try.

I can’t say I love it. It’s been a big adjustment.
I’ve come to realize that if I’m not creating, I don’t feel good. This time away has taught me a lot.
I miss my creative outlet, the passion I had for my work and I miss all of you. I’ve been trying to find a balance of work, life/kids and wood working -

I’m still working on finding the right balance. But I’m ready to get back to creating and making things with you!
I’ll be making a shift to more custom pieces/special orders with some open workshop events sprinkled in.
I’ve had lots of inquiries about parties and I will do them if/when I can.

With ALL that said I am VERY excited to announce that I AM doing an open workshop with none other than Holly Street Home at her new location in the Jackson Premium Outlets (if you haven’t check it out yet- be sure to stop by!!)

My heart is so happy to be back in a space where we can create together again. I’m excited to share some new things that have been swirling in my head and some things I’ve wanted to do for a long time.

I don’t often have time to make signs for myself. But, we all make time for what is important to us. My friend John is just that.

I look up to John, I admire John and I’m inspired by John.

He and his wife do amazing work with their non-profit organization . When he asked me to help with a project, I couldn’t have been happier to help.

While I was working on that, I made some time to make he and his wife a sign with their logo.
It was very well received. Haha. They loved it!

I got to make this amazing Spider-Man growth chart this week! I’m mildly obsessed with it! It’s the webbing for me!

I’ve made several growth charts in the past, but this was the first 3D. So happy with how it turned out!

I’ve made thousands of signs in my career.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE…

This is more than a sign. Sadly, this family lost their father/grandpa suddenly a few months ago. I was asked to make a sign to dedicate to him.
I was given an idea and told to run with it.

I was nervous about the hummingbird, how do you paint something with so many colors?!? But once I did and saw the way it came out, I knew I was golden.

Then today, I received this video of the sign being given.
When I tell you I cried. I CRIED! (I’m still crying watching it back)
It’s incredibly humbling to be able to be part of such a thoughtful and special gift. To honor a life, a man and his memory.
May you rest in peace “Duck” and your memory live on, always.

Still not quite over this sign. I loved incorporating the wood accent and hope I get to do that more often. The wood matches the furniture in the nursery it’s going in. Which visually, gives me all the happy decorating feels. 🤗

It’s after Thanksgiving, so that means I get to post ALL the Christmas things now!!

I was asked to come up with “something” as a gift for some Peloton friends. And then it spiraled from there!
