Happy International Women’s Month!

I remember when I was featured on WBBJ Channel 7 News alongside a visiting author. At that time, some people tried to downplay my success because I didn’t have a brick-and-mortar yet and was running my business out of my garage.

But every successful journey has a starting point.

What many people didn’t understand then is that purpose, faith, and hard work will always outgrow doubt.

Today I am proud to say that Pure Scent Essence Candle Bar now has a brick-and-mortar and has been located for three consecutive years inside the historic Neely House at Skillet Junction — the #1 brunch spot in Jackson, Tennessee.

What started as handcrafted natural products in my garage has grown into something bigger than I imagined.

Never let anyone intimidate you for walking in your purpose. Your beginning does not determine your ending.

Witnessing this family's annual girls' event, spanning three generations from seven to seventy-nine years old, truly warms my heart. I commend them for nurturing their bond, as family is a treasure to cherish. I shared with them the importance of capturing memories, reflecting on my own experience of missing my grandmother who helped raise me. I'm grateful my sister is here to share in this heartening experience at the candle bar.
