Celebrate Indie Bookstore Day with us this Saturday, April 25! and friends will have ceramics, zines, paper cut art, stone carvings, and more in the reading room from 11-5. Join us in the afternoon for Book Bedazzling at 12pm and a Book Swap at 3pm 💖📚

March is Indie Press Month. Please believe us when we say we’ve had a really beautiful window display all month celebrating some of our favorite books from incredible independent presses!! Life got in the way and none of our social media team remembered to take a nice photo when the sun was out. (It’s Ithaca, when is the sun ever out?)

BSB will be closed this Friday, January 30th in support of the nationwide general strike protesting ICE: no work, no school, no shopping.

Interactions with ICE and CBP have always been deadly. In 2025, 32 people died in ICE custody. In the last month, nine people have died in custody or been killed in interactions with ICE and CBP. These entities do not keep us safe, they perpetuate violence and harm. We join the (very loud) call to abolish ICE and defund and dismantle these systems of harm. If you are able, we urge you to join us in withholding your labor and capital.
