History like this deserves to be shared.

One of our Stormy Kromer fans recently reached out with these incredible photographs from his late father's collection of Northern Michigan memorabilia.

The man pictured was a lifelong farmer outside of Mikado, Michigan, whose greatest joys were fishing and cheering on the Detroit Tigers. The back of the photograph is labeled "AuSable River" and dated 1930. It's an amazing snapshot of everyday life nearly a century ago—and a reminder that Stormy Kromers have been along for the ride through generations of Midwest history.

The fan who shared these photos spent summers helping bring in hay on this farmer's land during the 1970s and '80s. Years later, his father would purchase the family farm. It's stories like these that make us realize a Stormy Kromer is more than a cap—it's woven into family histories across the Northwoods.

Thank you to this Stormy Kromer fan for allowing us to share this remarkable piece of history.

Do you have old photos of family members wearing a Stormy Kromer? We'd love to see them. Send us a message—your story might be featured next.

The first big storms off Lake Superior are nature's reminder...
Winter doesn't ask permission—it just shows up.
Good thing we've been getting ready for it since 1903.
