Using this rod brought me to a really cool place in my fly fishing journey. It aided in the correction of my pace. Taught me to slow down and tighten up. It’s been in my hands now for my 3rd season and isn’t going anywhere.

IYKYK
Some years, the hatches come off gradual, other years they concentrate and you’ll see the main push of bugs come up all at once. In this case it’s been like a light switch. Virtually overnight the dragonfly emergence has been crazy. On average, most anglers won’t ever see a trout take a dragonfly. When I first started, Fly Fishing, I even had anglers tell me that trout don’t eat them. However, here’s a tip for you. Dragonflies feet on the same bugs that Fish do. They share the menu. If you live in a region that has large trout, specifically on rivers that provide the long tag Elder tunnels were most flyfisherman struggle to cast, and you sit and observe the flight of the dragonflies, they are limited to flying within those small tunnels over the top of the water. This is where they become extremely easy prey and a substantial meal for trout that are willing to go airborne. Instead of having to figure out a creative way to hang your fly in the air to get a trout to jump out of the water and eat it, my advice is to throw on a large hex spinner or something that resembles the silhouette of a dragonfly spent on the water and if you can make the cast, you’ll probably find a large Fish willing to take. Even if you can’t cast, it might be worth venturing out and sitting in a tag out the tunnel to watch some of the trout that we see clear 2 to 3 feet of water to sn**ch a dragon fly out of mid air. It’s one of the coolest things you’ll see on a Troutstream.
