Building a community garden

A true community garden.
We hope to inspire and help our direct community by offering these pay it forward plantt starts. (Designated tables only)
By creating more food availability in our community we offer others more food security and the ability for us to all help each other.
We have beautiful starts and lots left. I'm still planting my garden, you still have time. Now is a great time.

In summer on our produce area we will have our "free" or as we will call it "community" basket. Got too many green beans? Bring them and swap for someone elses bell peppers. Too many zuchinni? Bring them.
This is not a "someone needs this more than I do". No, you need this. Or if able, grow extra and take it to other local food banks and food pantries.

Here's one little way we are changing the world.

It's is summer but we make beeswax candles all year long. I think wee will surpass 10,000 pounds of wax this calendar year.
There is an energy and peace when retouching beeswax. The memory and energy of billions of flowers touched, their frequency translates into each flake of wax the honey bees make.

I don't know how many hundreds of thousands of candles I have touched in the past ten years of being a candler (official name for candlemaker) but I'll tell ya, it gives me such peace touching beautiful natural scented warm beeswax. These perfect, sleek, untouched and refined 12 inch tapers so beautifully contrasted my calloused 40 year old farm hands, I loved the juxtaposition. But not nearly as much as I love having a beeswax candle at dinner to bring us together and linger longer.
