It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since we lost Jeff. He is still missed every day, and today, on his birthday, I’ve been thinking about him even more.
Something a lot of people may not know about Jeff is that he was adopted. Over the years, my family accepted Jeff as one of our own. He wasn’t just a great friend — he truly became a brother and part of our family.
Thankfully, a few years before Jeff passed, he started searching into his ancestry and biological family. Who would have ever guessed that he would discover he actually had a big family out there? He was lucky enough to meet and spend time with them before he passed.
And probably the craziest part of the whole story was finding out that his sister lived right next to my parents’ house. Seriously, what are the chances of that?
I don’t think I had ever seen Jeff as happy as he was when he realized how much family he really had. And it also meant that his daughter, Sophie, suddenly had this whole big family around her as well. That meant so much to him.
I still keep in touch with Jeff’s wife, Melissa and daughter Sophie , we had planned on visiting Jeff’s grave today for his birthday. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans, but we’ll be there very soon.
10 years gone, Jeff, but definitely not forgotten.
Happy Birthday, brother. You would have been 57 today. 🤘❤️
Miss you, brother. Always.
