The CD is dead. Long live the CD! I listen to vinyl, CD & streaming almost equally. Vinyl sounds the best, is the coolest, and is a true sentimental favorite. Streaming for me is all about convenience and exploring new music. I don't need to load my phone up with so many albums, plus I stream in HD, so it all sounds good. But if you are into physical media like I am and don't want to explode your budget, CDs are great. They have their own advantages and it's a buyers market now, especially for used discs. Prices have bottomed out and you can get multiple CDs for the same price as a vinyl record. The *MUSIC* has always been the most important thing, so I'll listen to it anyway I can. Some albums just have to be on vinyl, others are totally cool on CD. I respect everybody's preference and stance, but I refuse to be exclusive to one format or another, especially for elitist reasons. It's all about the music.
This article makes some pretty great points. However, I totally disagree with their assessment of vinyl. Your mileage may vary.
If vinyl is for hipsters and streaming is for everyone else, maybe the forgotten format is for you.
