Last night, 7 women gathered together and gave themselves permission to slow down.

There was laughter. There were intimate conversations. There was learning, sharing, and connection.

Women arrived carrying the weight of busy schedules, responsibilities, and the constant demands of everyday life. For a few hours, they were able to set those things down and simply be present.

They blended their own herbal foot soaks, enjoyed personalized herbal steam sessions, sipped tea, listened to healing sounds, and allowed themselves to rest.

There was no pressure to perform.
No expectations.
Just space to breathe, release, surrender, and receive.

One of the most beautiful things to witness was the shift that happened throughout the evening. Shoulders softened. Smiles became brighter. Conversations became deeper. The room felt lighter.

When asked how they felt afterward, the responses were consistent:

✨ Relaxed
✨ Light
✨ Refreshed
✨ Reconnected

And every single participant said they would attend again.

What touched me most was hearing that they wouldn’t change a thing about the experience.

These gatherings are about more than steaming, herbs, tea, or sound healing.

They are about creating intentional spaces where women can reconnect with themselves, find community, and remember what it feels like to be cared for.

Your body isn’t just ā€œstretchingā€ā€¦ it’s preparing for birth šŸ¤°šŸ¾āœØ

As a doula, one of the most powerful things I support my clients with before labor even begins is intentional movement and body preparation.

This full-body Thai yoga / SRT-inspired stretch session is more than relaxation, it’s birth preparation.

Do me a favor—Tag your postpartum Indy friends.

I’m thinking about starting a small postpartum healing class on the west side of Indianapolis and wanted to see if this is something local moms would enjoy.

The idea is a 6-week postpartum circle designed to help moms reconnect with their bodies after birth in a calm, supportive environment.

Each class would be 2 hours on Saturdays and include:

• gentle postpartum restorative stretching / yoga
• herbal steaming for postpartum recovery
• nervous system regulation and guided rest
• time to connect with other moms
• access to a postpartum care specialist to ask questions and get support

This would be for moms 6 weeks postpartum and beyond, and babies/children would absolutely be welcome.

The goal is to create a warm, supportive space for healing, relaxation, and community — something many of us wish we had more of after birth.

Classes would likely start mid–late April, with small groups limited to 10 moms so the space stays intimate and supportive.

✨ The first hour after birth can change everything.

Before the swaddles.
Before the visitors.
Before the hospital routine begins…

There is something called the Golden Hour šŸ’›

When baby is placed skin-to-skin immediately after birth:

āœ”ļø Baby’s temperature regulates
āœ”ļø Breathing steadies
āœ”ļø Blood sugar stabilizes
āœ”ļø Your body releases oxytocin (the hormone that helps milk begin flowing)
āœ”ļø Breastfeeding gets off to a stronger start

That first hour sets the tone for the entire feeding journey.
