Inspiration on so many levels. Kokomo was one of her little cities... Not too little for her to leave her great big mark.
Saddened and inspired to do more... To write more . To give more.

The poet and activist was a leading figure of the Black Arts Movement. Giovanni was working on her upcoming book of poetry, set to publish in the fall.

Post-Doing the Dream with celebration was not supposed to include going to the hospital! Anemia, GERD, Hypokalemia, and shortness of breath (due to GERD) 🫁 ugh!
