The Indiana Black Expo, Inc. & the Circle City Classic has not only been handicapped By the Leadship in Places But it’s Lack of Community involvement, Promotion, & Marketing Leading Up to the Events. The Organization has gotten lazy basing the attendance on previous years and antiquated and draconian outlook for promotion and marketing for such a pivotal Black event within the city. These events which were once highlights in the black community have been relegated to small almost unimportant events when they have brought in millions of dollars to the city also with the IMPD presence pushing young & old black visitors that are spending money within the downtown area out of the downtown area during an after the event, making it hard for local entrepreneurs, restaurants, and companies to capitalize on the influx of traffic into the downtown area. I think we have to look not only at the infrastructure of our government (IMPD)and how they handle Major Black events as opposed to other major events in the City. Along with all the Leadership & organizers of the Indiana Black expo and the Circle city classic to see if they are out of touch in the marketing strategies which actually reach the demographic that they wanna have During these times. No Commercial Ads, No Billboards, and no Digital Marketing I believe is to blame for the decline in attendance. It’s my belief that it’s time for a C change in so many departments in government, organizers, boards of many black organizations in general we’re not targeting the correct demographic and highlighting the positive aspect in which the circle city classic and the black expo has always stood for. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments. Should there be new leaders in place? should there be a different way of marketing nationally and getting more people into the city to participate in the Black Expo and in the Circle City classic what’s your thoughts? Leave it in the comments!
