On this day, 77 years ago, the Allied forces of Europe initiated the largest amphibious combat operation in World history. “Operation Overlord” is better known to the rest of us as D-Day. This day was the culmination of years of planning, training, and logistics to form the most able group of forces to combat the occupying N**i Army and Luftwaffe.

We pay our respects to all soldiers, sailors, airmen, paratroopers, commandos, medics, nurses, doctors, and French resistance fighters that assaulted the beaches of the Normandy coast that day...paving the way for Allied forces to push through France and Germany, eventually ending the war in Europe less than a year later.

The World should never forget that which these brave men and women sacrificed, and why...lest we repeat our mistakes of the past.
