It's time to sell some of my personal quilts. Most are my original designs and I have done the piecing, quilting, and binding. I’m 37 years into quilting and still making more, so some of them need to go to new homes. Some of these quilts have been displayed or hung on the wall but never used as quilts. I store my quilts on a queen bed that is only used for stacking quilts; this keeps them from getting permanent folds that weaken the fabrics. Pet free and smoke free home.

You will see pictures of all of the quilts I’m selling and the first comment with each picture will contain the description. If you like Neil Diamond's music and a really good movie, Song Sung Blue is streaming on Peacock. I've watched it 3 times over the last 3 days and absolutely love it.

Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson's acting is incredible! It was so interesting seeing them "become" those characters. The music is awesome and so is the story.

I have not been paid to say this. lol It's just the most entertaining movie I've seen in years -- one with music you can sing along with. (In my case, better done if you're alone.)

MEET THE INFAMOUS MARTHA QUILT

I've only been stiffed twice in 22 years of quilting for folks. Once many years ago with a bad check from a longarm customer, and now with the Marsha quilt!

I spent a month or so with a guy (he's no gentleman) who wanted to have me design a quilt for his wife whom he loved "beyond words". He was a veteran so me, being nice, I didn't charge him any upfront fees. Make that stupid me! After I designed it, made it, and quilted it, he ghosted me.

Selling for $400 to at least get some money for my time and materials.

I can make changes, if necessary. These are the options I can think of:

1. Find someone named Marsha who would like to buy this quilt
2. Find a husband/boyfriend/mother/friend who knows a Marsha and thinks she's wonderful/smart/beautiful beyond words
3. Change the word Marsha to Beauty - as in roses have "beauty beyond words" it would be painstaking, but I can do it.
4. Change the word Marsha to Roses and maybe change beyond words to "so beautiful" or something like that.
5. Remove all the words

It's been a busy, fun week seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Still have lots of great bargains available, so I'm extending the sale through Sunday, Sept 1st. Fabric/Quilting Sale - Aug 19 thru 31 - by Appointment
Last year I set up a little quilt boutique in my home and sold a lot of fabric, patterns, and notions. It was so much fun, I've been searching for fabric sales all year to do it again. ( Yes, even wholesale fabric distributors even have sales). This year I have fabrics, quilt kits, and patterns from a quilting friend who moved out of state and couldn't take it all. Join me for my 2nd annual sale. I like to think of it as a pop-up quilting boutique in my home. I am a longarm quilter and quilt pattern designer, plus I sell fabric and quilt kits online. This year I have a little bit of everything. Here's a partial list of what's available.

Fabric new, on the bolt, flat folds, pre-cuts, 108" wide backing, and panels (lots of panels, multiples of several), priced below retail - Stash fabrics, yardage, mine and one other quilter's v Fat Quarters, one quarter yard cuts, and just small pieces, sold by weight which averages $1.25 per fat quarter - Specialty fabrics: black wool felt; cheater quilt fabric, faux leather fabric, homespun fabric, vintage fabrics; and heavy weight fabric for bags, totes, tablecloths, drapes - My own snow-dyed fabrics - Piecing, applique, and longarm books and magazines - Patterns - Notions - Brother sewing machine, older but works - Vintage Signature sewing machine, selling as a collector's item or for display in a quilt shop or museum - Last, but not least, I have my own book, patterns, and hand dyed fabrics to sell and also some finished items: quilts, wall hangings, table runners, bags and totes.

PM me for an appointment - evenings and weekends appointments are fine. I do this by appointment so I don't have too many people here at once. If you have a group, I can handle up to 5 or 6 people if you don't mind waiting while I cut fabric etc. I will have refreshments and you will be in a clean, safe home with no pets.

I'm located in Independence, Missouri. Might as well say Kansas City - I'm just east of the Chiefs and Royals stadiums, near I-70. If you aren't close enough to drive and you see something you like, PM me for more information.

I'm working on my second Play and Learn quilt. I just need to get it quilted and finish the pattern.

This is 'Wild Animal Hunt' - it teaches toddlers (probably 2 to 3 years old) to identify animals plus play a little game with parents, babysitters, or older siblings. They have to look at one of the 14 smaller pictures and find the animal that it matches on the big panel. The quilt takes two panels - one for the center and one to cut up. I have 12 panels, enough for 6 quilts. If you would like for me to reserve 2 for you until I get the pattern done, just comment and I will get back to you. They are current panels so you can also purchase them at your local quilt shop or online. I will post here as soon as I have everything ready.

I will post better picttures next time.

LOOK what's coming next! Eagles and Animals

I fell in love with this fascinating panel. Expand and look closely in the mountains and rocks for eagles and bears,

I will be selling the pattern, the panel, and a one-yard matching print, which contains more eagles and bears plus wolves, long horn sheep, and goats that I fussy cut for the borders. All you have to add is the sashing (I used a dark navy with a bit of a pattern) and a blue to match the sky behind the mountains. Leave me a comment if you would like to have one set reserved for you.

Now to get it quilted and the pattern done...
