Vanguard Tabletop Gaming Vanguard Tabletop Gaming is a center for gaming and learning across from Barnstable High School. Sean Parker is the owner and lead educator of Vanguard Skills.

He graduated summa cm laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Clark University with a double major in psychology and philosophy and with certificates in human services and school psychology. He trained in the Great Books master’s curriculum at St. John’s College. He earned his doctorate in human development and education from Harvard University. He taught English at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. He

taught incarcerated teenagers through the Massachusetts Department of Youth Services. He was a teaching fellow in applied statistics at Harvard University. He taught quantitative research methodology at Tufts University. Teaching is Sean’s passion. Vanguard Skills strives to be a place for people who not only tolerate differences but also appreciate differences in age, s*x, socioeconomics, race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, language, neurotype, disability, s*xual orientation, gender identity and gender expression. Uncover the Secrets of Strixhaven and prove your college is the best with every spell you cast!

All Secrets of Strixhaven prerelease events are 3 round sealed deck events. Each player receives a Secrets of Strixhaven prerelease kit to build their sealed deck. Each player is paired with another player each round and at the end of 3 rounds players can win prizes based on their record.

35.00 Fee for participation. We award a Strixhaven Promo Pack, and a regular Strixhaven Play Pack Per Win! 3-0 gets a Foil Strixhaven Promo Pack and promos!

We have the Deadpool Secret Lair in stock and are announcing a new House Rule that if you have the land from this set, we will be allowing it to be played as it says as an Island or a Mountain, but you can not play it in same deck as Volcanic Island in Commander!!

Dear Vanguard Community,

TL;DR: Rob Zeida now has full managerial authority over all Vanguard polices and services.

I am stepping away from the front-facing side of the business to focus on the behind-the-scenes side and to join as a player the community that I love. My goal is to play your favorite games with you (every one of you) and maybe cajole a few of you into playing my favorite games--Marvel Crisis Protocol, Star Wars Shatterpoint, Star Wars Legion, Too Many Bones, Aeon's End, 7 Wonders and of course Dungeons and Dragons. My goal with Vanguard has always been to create a "third place" for people (like me) who need it, especially kids (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_place). Restructuring the business is the best way to reach that goal.

Rob Zeida now has full managerial authority over all store polices and customer services. For the last year or two, I tried to half-way Rob's role and my role, but that only led to confusion and frustration. Please pardon the rough transition. I just wasn't ready to give anyone, even Rob, the authority needed to take Vanguard to the next level. I'm ready now, and I am so excited to step aside and let Rob work his magic. Thank you for your patience and support. I look forward to playing with you who inspired me and encouraged me through all my start-up struggles. Vanguard forever.

Tomorrow is Pokemon Day and the 30th Anniversary of Pokemon! We are planning a celebration honoring it this Sunday at 1pm. We will have a Build and Battle Tournament for 25.00 with the set to be determinded.

All this weekend, we will be also teaching kids how to learn and play aside from the build and battle tournament. Pokemon has sent us demo decks to give away, as well as promo cards!!

We have decks to give out, and will have prizes for the tournament as well as for the learning experiences that we will be running all weekend.
