I haven’t made Bad Mom Bags in ages!

This is one of the very first bag styles I designed and drafted myself, instead of sewing from a pattern. That was a few years ago.

Why “Bad Mom?”

Well, because…

No, I can’t hold that for you. No, I won’t put that in my purse for you. My bag only has enough room for MY stuff. Tote your own s**t. ‘Cause I’m just a bad mom like that.

😋😎😉

This one is actually larger than I normally make them. Mischief here is “standard” size at 10” wide, 9” tall, and 3” deep. (Normally, I make the small size at about 7-8” wide, 6” tall, and 2” deep.) But this embroidery design needed a little more room.

Ya’ll!! This is just…it warms all my happy heart vibes. We got to be just a tiny part of Love Somebody’s hat bar at Magic City Sip’s kickoff party! (Those patches on the hats…yeah…I’m kinda proud of those babies traveling all the way to Birmingham.)

Supporting local is so, so important! When you support a local business, they in turn support other local businesses. You may never know how far those ripples reach.

The folks who pulled up to support Magic City Sips probably had NO IDEA that in showing up and buying a hat from Love Somebody, they helped a little rebel embroidery shop in Huntsville pay rent for July, which helps 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬-𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞 keep the lights on, which helps even more small shops & vendors have a space so they can reach their goals.

The ripples of supporting local…it’s just an amazing thing to see. And it warms my heart like nothing else. ❤️❤️

Yay!!! *THIS* is why I moved my whole studio up to University Pickers. The store itself is awesome…but the vendor community makes ALL the difference. From the sisters who own the store to the plethora of antique, vintage, and artisan vendors, there is such an atmosphere of love and inclusion and genuine neighborly involvement. It shows all over the store.

We really ARE the Best of Alabama!! 😁

While Bertha (10 needle embroidery machine) is stitching her heart out getting a custom patch order finished, I’ve been busy on Betsy (vintage Singer 15-91, circa 1949.)

Almost got these cellphone crossbody wallets done. Just some edge painting to do tomorrow and they’ll be ready for adoption. 😁

Fair warning, guys. If you come to the studio in the next week or so, be prepared for a small, adorable, but definitely disgruntled employee.

Titus had surgery to repair a torn CCL this past Monday. His restrictions for the next 8-12 weeks are pretty “or else” to make sure he doesn’t break the leg. So, at least until his first follow up in 2 weeks, he’s coming to work with me.

It was this or a crate. Titus has never been in a cage in his entire almost-6 years of life. I’m not forcing him into one now. Not while he hurts and he’s on heavy meds that make him feel weird. That just seems like a recipe for chaos and misery.

Unfortunately, he’s not a fan of this take-a-dog-to-work program. It’s not home. It’s not his bed. It’s not his water bowl. It’s not his grass/bathroom. And there are all these strange people EVERYWHERE. (Aussies aren’t typically keen on people who aren’t “their” people.) Nevermind the crazy, noisy box thing (elevator) he has to ride to get upstairs.

So if you come to say hi, just know my helper is grumpier than an unwilling teenager. And he is a professional pouter. He knows how to play up the pitiful sulk.

This morning is rather quiet. No needles humming along at 700-1,000 stitches a minute.

That’s because this morning I’m working on metal door magnets for a local business. I got their front glass doors done Friday. Next will be humongous wall decals.

Not my usual fare, but I have most of the equipment for a small sign shop…or T-shirt shop…or trucker hat bar… Funny how so many separate specialty shops use a lot of the same equipment.

I mean…if ya got it…use it, right? 😁

Have you guys checked out Twigg Hollow’s Etsy shop lately?

I’m working on getting new stuff listed. (Including old design releases that have never quite made it to Etsy or the website.)

Check out what’s new…and stay tuned for more new listings shortly.
