Dear Friends of Bar Harbor Book Shop,
Steve and I are of ”retirement age” and we so much want to be able to enjoy Mount Desert Island with all its beauty and magic. Spending more time with our granddaughter Harriet also helped with our decision. Although the shop is closed you can find us at our online website .com or .com

Tomorrow (Friday) Bar Harbor Book Shop’s last day open forever. Please come and pickup your book shelves you paid for (still some available) and step stools (one more available) There’s still quite a selection of books and yard sale items. Heartfelt Thanks to everyone who helped to make the transition pleasant. I am forever grateful for all your support. ❤️

Our last 4 days at the book shop (bitter sweet) and adding an indoor “yard sale”. Pictures of some things available but much more. We’re accepting only cash unless the credit card provider gets their issues worked out by tomorrow. First come, first served. We still have a good selection of Maine, Children’s, History, Classics, Modern Lit, Biography, Art, Religion, Mystery and more at 50% to 75% off individual marked prices (and more)

We’re still here with lots more books, our handmade, all hardwood book shelves and everything else it took to keep the shop going. Help lessen the load. Steve won’t let me take it all home.

Vintage Cast Iron Book Press - 13.5” x 10.5” plate, 19th century. Has been in use as of today. $300 or BO.

Our off season hours start this coming week. Thursday, Friday & Saturday, from noon ‘till 4:00. Aaaa, the life of a book seller ❤️
Side note - we just received our order for Cemeteries and selling it for $10 a copy, additional $5 for shipping.
