Just completed: The Ashborn, a prototype parlor acoustic guitar based on guitars made by James Ashborn and his crew of luthiers in the mid-19th century, the Ashborn features proprietary top bracing and is strung with Ernie Ball Earthwound silk & steel. (Ashborn's guitars were built in Spanish style and were gut-strung.)
Materials include Sitka Spruce top, solid Black Walnut back. laminate Black Walnut ribs, Mahogany neck, Rosewood fretboard, and Katalox bridge and headstock plate. Bindings are fiddleback Maple.
