“This is a great day for law-abiding gun owners in Idaho,” said Chris W. Cox, NRA-ILA executive director. “Now, the residents of Idaho can choose what method of self-defense suits them best no matter where they are in the state.”

Permitless carry is already legal outside of city limits in Idaho for law-abiding individuals who are 18 and older. This bill makes permitless carry legal statewide for any law-abiding Idahoan over 21, and provides a mechanism for well-trained, law-abiding adults 18 years and older to obtain a concealed weapons license. The legislation will go into effect July 1, 2016.

“Once again the people have rejected Bloomberg’s gun-control agenda. It’s clear that Idahoans respect their Second Amendment rights and saw right through Bloomberg’s lies,” Cox said. “The people of Idaho are safer today with Gov. Otter’s signature on SB 1389.”

Vice President Joseph Biden has been talking to governors and mayors about the successful efforts, a signal that Obama may be planning to mobilize other state and local elected officials to take on executive movements of their own.

Obama has recently welcomed to the Oval Office both former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, the Arizona Democrat severely wounded in a mass shooting five years ago, and former New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, long a prominent advocate of gun control.

On the afternoon that he decided to launch perhaps the most controversial effort of his second term – gun control by executive order – President Obama took one look at remarks written for him to address a mass shooting in Oregon and warned his team he would go off-script.

• Start by finding a local range that offers a 3 Gun weekend course. There’s enough uniqueness about 3 gunning that you’ll really appreciate some pretty thorough preparation. At 3Gun Nation.com you can enter your zip-code and get a great list of ranges near you.

• A lot of ranges, especially those that offer 3 Gun training or matches, will rent or loan the guns you need. If you don’t see this info posted, just ask.

• Still on the subject of practice and preparation, if you can’t find a weekend course that suits you, there are a number of ranges that will offer a half-day instruction and then a half-day competition. Even a half day of competitive training will give valuable insight into ways of maximizing good results and minimizing foulups. More and more pro’s are offering 3 Gun classes and many are NRA certified instructors.
