Today was one of those days that remind me of why I opened The Priory.

To everyone who stopped in during the Home & Garden Show—whether you made a purchase, browsed for a while, shared kind words, or simply walked through the door for the first time—thank you.

Seeing so many new faces, hearing your stories, and watching people connect with this little shop was such a gift. Small businesses are built on community, and your support means more than I can adequately put into words.

This season has held its share of challenges, so days like today are especially meaningful. Every visit, every conversation, every item that finds a new home helps keep this dream moving forward.

Thank you for choosing to shop small, support local, and spend a part of your day with us.

A little honesty....

Many of you have asked why the shop has been quiet lately, and I've struggled to find the right words.

For those who have been wondering where I've been...

This season has asked more of me than I expected. After many months of navigating challenges behind the scenes, I found myself needing something I haven't given myself much of lately: rest.

The truth is that the ongoing disruptions surrounding the shop have taken a far greater toll than I ever anticipated. What I believed would be a temporary season has stretched into 10 months of uncertainty, constant construction, and challenges that have made it difficult to fully settle into this space and focus on the work I love.

After spending much of the last year adapting, pushing through, and trying to make the best of circumstances beyond my control, I realized I needed to step back for a little while.
So that's what I've done.

The Priory was built from a love of beautiful things, old stories, and creating a place where people could linger. That love remains, even when the doors are closed and the future feels uncertain.

I'm taking time to gather my thoughts, restore my spirit, and determine what the next chapter looks like. I don't have all the answers yet, and that's okay. For now, I'm simply taking things one day at a time.

Thank you for every message, every visit, every word of encouragement, and for continuing to care about this little shop. Your kindness has meant more than I can properly express.

For those who have been asking, I am planning to be in the shop this Friday and Saturday and would love to see some familiar faces.

I'm taking things one day at a time, but I look forward to opening the doors and welcoming you back in.

We are now welcoming applications for A Gathering on Main—a curated open-air fall mercantile hosted by The Priory | A Rustewelle Co.

This seasonal gathering will bring together 60+ thoughtfully selected merchants, including artisans, makers, collectors, and small businesses offering vintage wares, handcrafted goods, homegrown products, earthenware, textiles, clothing, jewelry, baked goods, plantings, and more.

We are seeking merchants whose work feels: — storied rather than mass-produced
— well-made, timeless, and considered
— aligned with a warm, heritage-inspired aesthetic

Set along Hudson’s tree-lined Main Street, this market is designed to feel unhurried—an afternoon of discovery, community, and quietly beautiful finds.

There are moments when a space begins to ask for a little more—
not in volume, but in depth… in story… in the feeling it leaves behind.

As The Priory continues to take shape,
I’m quietly opening space for one or two guest collections—
thoughtfully selected makers or curators whose work feels at home within these walls.

This is not an open call in the traditional sense...but rather an invitation.

I’m seeking pieces that feel storied rather than produced—
goods with a sense of patina, intention, and quiet beauty…
things meant to be gathered slowly and lived with over time.

Since sharing earlier today, I’ve had a few of you reach out about Fall…
and I have to say, I’m really looking forward to this year’s Gathering on Main and the slower pace the season brings with it.

The Gathering has always been shaped by a storied mix of merchants whose work feels thoughtful, well-made, and timeless—pieces that carry a sense of story, quiet beauty, and intention.
A day where the community comes together and we’re able to breathe a little lighter.

There’s been a great deal taking shape behind the scenes for this Spring’s Gathering on Main, along with a few unexpected shifts this season…

After a lot of thoughtful consideration, I’ve made the decision to pause this season’s market and turn my full attention toward a beautifully curated Fall Gathering.

With a combination of permitting deadlines and a few evolving changes within the Greens, it became clear that Spring wouldn’t allow the event to come together in the way it was intended—and rather than rush it, it felt more important to give it the space it deserves.

I’m truly so grateful for the support, applications, and excitement that’s already been shared—and I’m truly looking forward to gathering with you this Fall.

For those who have already applied, please check your inbox for a follow-up from me.

And for those already joining us this Fall—thank you. It’s already beginning to take shape in the most lovely way.
