Will there ever be a time you understand the magnitude of my love? The amount of time I spent agonizing over the food you would eat at nine months old, the toys you were exposed to or the amount of times I would fix your bow over and over. How I would wake up in the middle of the night to make sure you were breathing. How, when I was gone, I would get teary eyed thinking you thought I didn’t care. How I desperately wanted space from you when you hung on me but also wanted you to always want me the way you did in that moment. How fearful I already am of the day you start to drive. How I already know I will be the mom awake all night until you come through the garage door. How my heart breaks for the day yours will for the first time, even though they won’t be worth your tears. How I pray you never doubt your beauty or intelligence. Will there ever be a time you understand the magnitude of my love?
