Four One Living

Four One Living Gift Shop My shop started out of a hobby. Making things that make people smile brings me so much joy! I genuinely hope to share that joy with all of you!

When people started asking me "can you make ___" and I kept hearing, "you should sell these", I knew there was more to it than a hobby. When my daughter was born I felt so inspired to fulfill parts of me I had long neglected. She brought me so much happiness and I just wanted to feel that happy ALL the time. Crafting and creating doesn't quite compare to the way that little girl can melt my heart,

but it comes close! I truly love seeing a final product and knowing it will make somebody, somewhere smile and I think making others smile is one of the best ways to spend your life :)

I can't wait to work with anyone who has an idea that needs to be brought to life, so if you've been daydreaming and wishing _______ existed, message me and let's work together to make it happen! "Help it happen, make it happen, or get out of the way, folks!"

It's official! Our old home off of Chevy Chase has new owners and we have moved to the north side of I-10. Please don't leave or ship packages to the Chevy Chase address anymore!
Some sad news: When we fired up my 10 year old, outdated, but super reliable and oh-so trusty laser, she fired back! An electrical short occurred during the move and she caught on fire and fried the computer she was hooked up to also. We are working on replacing her faulty parts and hope to have her back up and running soon! In the meantime, we have purchased what we're calling the "baby laser" and I'm learning the ropes with new equipment and software. Whew, it's been a wild month! I am taking orders, but turnaround times are slower than usual.
Other news: It's softball/baseball/volleyball season and we are cranking out customized jerseys, hats, yard signs, you-name-its, and would love to deck out your whole team! If you need help with any of those items, I'd love to help you out! I also have some super easy team photo templates in my Etsy shop that will keep you from waiting in those ridiculous lines and ending up with a picture no one wants! You can see a sample here, but I'm blurring their sweet faces (except my own child) because the internet is a scary place! Hopefully you get the idea! Let me know how I can help you! https://fouroneliving.etsy.com/listing/1799221569/diy-team-photo-template-yearbook-and

It’s been refreshing to see something besides YETI and RTIC over the last couple of years! I absolutely love Stanleys and their color combinations! Where do you stand, do you have a favorite? Whatever you’re drinking from, we’d love to customize it for you!

I was about to start this inscription with a generic handwritten font I selected and something made me hesitate. Usually this means I’ve forgotten to check something, so I double checked all my settings, my placements, sizing, everything…all was correct, but I just couldn’t hit start. I decided to reach out to the client and ask if she could have her nephew handwrite the inscription instead and send it over-which she did. What was a very special, custom gift turned into a little treasure, a glimpse of a 13 year old boy’s heart and messy handwriting that will not only keep his mom hydrated, but will, I hope, bring comfort and peace in moments of struggle.
I learned a little bit of the backstory after completing this project and while I won’t share any of that here, it’s yet another reminder to me why I do custom items. I wish I had the power to erase the things that bring some of you to this little shop, but I’m so grateful for whatever tiny role I can play to make you and your people smile 🥰.

What do they say about a cobbler’s kid not having shoes?! If you thought my girls would have the cutest tumblers all the time, you’d lose on that bet! But, every so often I need to test a new design or tumbler type and ta-da! How stinkin’ cute is she?! Oh yea, the new font design is a keeper too, I think 😍

We've been quiet around here (as sometimes happens!)...social media is a bit of a conundrum for us (do we post and potentially drum up more business when we’re already slammed?)! We have been "don't have time to eat or sleep" busy since about mid October and completed (241) orders in that time. Some were for a single item, but most were not. Most were for Four One Living, but it was our first Christmas season operating two businesses ( ) and received more orders there than we anticipated! In total, around (698) tumblers were etched, (114) DIY paint kits were ordered/shipped, since mid-March (19) paint parties and two paint workshops were hosted. 2021 was an amazing year and I needed a few days to really soak that in…and REST! I wanted to thank you all so much for every order you placed, every person you referred us to, and every kind message or word of thanks you sent our way. There are some highlights from the year in the photos! For those interested, I wanted to share some things we discovered over the past year:
My “why” became very clear. What I love most about making customized items is hearing your “why”. I’ve had people ask, “won’t people eventually get tired of customized tumblers?” and I really, really don’t think so! Y’all get tumblers to commemorate girls trips, family trips/gatherings/reunions, the start of a school year, for your sports teams, with your ranch/beach house/farm/vacation home logos, for your bachelor/bachelorette parties, for your friend and neighborhood groups, etc. etc. etc.! Also, I love making items for kiddos! The joy they get from seeing their names on things just sparks a joy in my heart and they continue to be our best-sellers! So, even when we’re quiet on social media, know we’re over here customizing things and ready to make something for you, whatever your “why” and for any occasion. We still love doing this – going on 7 years of customizing things and 6 years of primarily tumblers. It’s a bit shocking to me…I have a tendency to have squirrel brain and have no less than 5 “great ideas” on an almost daily basis, but doing this never gets old and I love you all for making it possible! And yes, we need to clear out some inventory, so post-holiday sales will be posted soon!

Into the home stretch for the week...every year around October I purchase a planner because life gets to be more than I can keep up with in my little head 😆 Every year, I also promise myself I'll use it for the whole year, but after Christmas, it goes by the wayside 🤷‍♀️. Are you a planner? What's the secret to sticking with it?! Maybe with two kids, two businesses, and a full time job I'll find some sanity in maintaining this good habit!
Do you spy your order in the queue? Planning for next years DIY subscription boxes for The Easy Artist Box is also underway 👀!

Back at Hearts and Hands Holiday Market for the first time since taking a break to prepare for baby Piper's arrival (y'all! She will be 2 in December 😱😳😭!) then Covid... it feels so good to be back at it, talking to folks, making cute stuff for others, and just being "normal"! Start thinking about Christmas early this year-shipping and delays are going to be an issue... this maker is not stuck on a ship and I'm ready to make something for you! 💛

Custom tumblers for a vacation home! The “home name” is on one side and the guests names are on the reverse. Such a fun way to do less dishes and never wonder if you’re accidentally drinking another guests beverage! Loved working on this order and getting to know a new customer 💛

So excited to share this with you all! After much deliberation, I have decided to create a separate entity for the DIY kits, Paint Parties, and custom wood signs. I realize the market for customized tumblers and painted signs might be a bit different and I want to continue only showing you content you’re interested in! So, while I can’t promise I’ll *never* cross post things, and I do think I’ll be cross posting for a bit, at least while I get things kicked off, I hope you’ll like/follow both pages and join me in this newest endeavor! I, quite literally, can’t wait to see what you’ll create!!

Y’all remember my “states I’ve shipped to” map from a couple months ago?! I got to fill in Alaska and Hawaii this week and Idaho a few weeks ago! Doesn’t look like I’ll fill the whole thing, but 35 states this year is way more than I would have imagined 🤗 I’m so glad I did this little exercise. Y’all are just the.best.! Thank you for bringing joy to my maker heart with each of your orders and I hope receiving them sparked some joy for you as well!💛💛
