Tim Butler
Age 56 - African American Male - Father
I am a Coordinator of Joshua’s Mentors Group founded in 2005; and I am a Member of New Life Tabernacle Church in Houston Texas.
The most important thing to me is being a father; and being a positive impact in one's life. I raised my boys as a single parent and although difficult; I would do it all over again. Albeit, I would make some changes, I would embrace the opportunity again. My boys are my heart beat and without them I am nothing. In addition to my children, my next passion is the Joshua’s Mentors’ Group (which I founded in 2005). Joshua’s Mentoring Group offers support to those persons who may need, the presence of a male role, to assist them with life challenging issues.
From a Christian environment we can incorporate a positive atmosphere, which will be successful as well as fun. There are those who need a "role model" that can be the visible force in their lives. Some vital key elements are: Assistance with Education - In this element there may be situations in which the individuals may be struggling with school or may even have other issues at school which may prevent a successful outcome. Encouraging Success - Keep it fun-filled, focusing on helping students survive the challenges of pre-adolescence. By teaching sound biblical principles integrated with life skills. Individuals can identify and abstain from risky behaviors. Equip the young men to rise above the societal pressures of drugs, alcohol, smoking, pre-marital s*x, and other behaviors, which place them at high risk.
I am a member of the Harris County Constable PCT 1 Outreach program
