Cottontop Fowl Co.

Cottontop Fowl Co. Veteran owned waterfowl call company that's invented a new duck call specifically for the duck blind. This dream became a reality in 2018. WHO RUNS COTTONTOP?

Cottontop, started from the founder’s dream of being in the outdoors industry since he was a boy. He grew up making anything and everything in his granddaddy’s workshop, hunting and fishing for everything under the sun. Everything we do here at Cottontop is by hand. We cut, polish, paint, and tune every call by hand for maximum quality. Whenever a customer buys a call from us, we ensure that that

call is exactly what they bought and more. WHY THE NAME COTTONTOP? One day one of the founders was hunting with a buddy and they tagged a Wigeon. After they had retrieved the bird, his buddy said, “Man, that’s a nice looking ‘Cottontop’!” The name stuck ever since. Cottontop is an owned and operated by U.S. Army veterans. Every one that works on our team has fought and served for our great nation. We take pride in our service in the Army, and continue that service with having all products and parts of our calls being made in the USA. Veteran Owned

Absolutely Fascinating.

The waterfowl migration is truly incredible.

“Our first radiomarked white-front is back in LA. She arrived in AB from her nesting location in AK on 24Sept and departed SK at 0850 on 6Oct. She flew non-stop 1,541 miles reaching a top speed of 93mph over western ND, stopped for 4 hours near Hickory Ridge, AR (her ground speed slowed to just 31 mph; must have stalled out with the front), and settled into NE LA at 1451 on 7Oct. 1,732 miles in 30 hours, and well over 11,000 miles in the 11 months since I captured her. Amazing birds. Amazing technology. Amazing assemblage of donors, volunteers, and landowners making this cutting edge stuff possible.”

You know your boys love duck hunting when they set up a blind and spread of straight mallards. They don’t even move the dekes to play wiffle ball 😂🤷🏻‍♂️

Semper Fi, Marines. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten! Please keep the families of the Marines that made the ultimate sacrifice today, as well as the ones that were critically wounded.

To all the Marines that we had the chance to meet, get to know, and work it for 5 months in 2019… if you ever need to talk, just hit us up.

🚨🚨WARNING: Long Post Ahead🚨🚨

Hunting in sub-freezing temperatures can be grueling at times. With all of the stuff that goes into duck hunting, hunting in colder weather just increases the difficulty.

Finding water that hasn’t frozen over yet, and has ducks in the area. Breaking ice, and carrying all your equipment including the 2-4 dz decoys and spinners. Not to mention, trying to keep your decoys from being covered in ice! And to top it of, having your waders and jacket frozen solid.

We’ve been through all of that like many of you. And I’ll tell y’all, after going through and facing all those obstacles…

The last thing you wanna deal with is a duck call that doesn’t work in freezing temperatures! You can barely work your fingers let alone break down a call just to clean all the ice out.

Our main focus when designing our calls was that they could outlast anything we threw at it. And a big pain point for us, when we were in Colorado, was the ability for our calls to work in the 💩. When it’s overcast or snowy and 2° out with a wind chill of -10°, nobody wants to worry about, “will my duck call work?🤔” And what we set out to do is exactly what our calls are capable of, and more!

So, when we say “Never start calling” or that we’re the only duck call “built for the blind”… we mean it and stand by it.
