2016 was one of the most transformative, exciting years of my life… ✨

It was the year I grew my business to new heights, got engaged, moved from NYC to Houston, started building my styling business in a new city while simultaneously flying back to NYC every month for work …

Style wise? It was fun. It was playful. It was colorful. It was often boho chic, and occasionally it was inspired by Texas / western culture. 🤠

As I entered my 30s I wasn’t afraid to experiment with fashion. Moving to Houston gave me a great sense of freedom I didn’t experience in NYC, often being confined by the weather, and walking 10,000+ steps a day!

I took advantage of the new location and new climate and gradually transitioned my wardrobe to reflect the exciting new chapter I was beginning.

What a fun excuse to go down memory lane … thanks for following along! 🤍

Thank you to this community for another wonderful year. Attending Paris Fashion Week, celebrating 15 years and relaunching a new site included some of the highlights. I look forward to helping more clients reach their wardrobe and styling goals, but more importantly, building relationships and strengthening connections, which makes this job so meaningful.

The highlight reel is pretty, but the hustle is... unhinged.

Building has been the wildest ride of my life, and I wouldn’t trade the chaos for anything. From saying “yes” to everything (zero boundaries!) to a 1,600-mile “commute” for 3.5 years, I did what I had to do.

Now I’m so proud of the business (and life!) I’ve built from scratch here in Houston.

To all my fellow entrepreneurs, I see you. The late nights, the scary decisions, the 5-jobs-in-1... it’s all part of the story.

This event was an incredible networking opportunity and allowed me to connect with management from nearly every luxury boutique in the mall. More partnerships are in the works and I am excited to share those with you soon!

Last night we celebrated 15 years of Shop With Val … and it was everything I could’ve dreamed of and more. 💖
