A long-time friend and member of Cy-Fair VFD, Sig Bargaleski died this morning. He was a member of Station 5 and a Fire Marshal with CY-Fair. Services are tentatively planned for Wednesday.

Surgery was at 7:30 this morning. We had to be at Memorial City at 5:30. Everything went well, and I am back at home, typing with one hand. I have a nerve block in place, with lots of pain killers. Doctor said everything went well. Now comes the fun part - therapy. Thanks for all of the good wishes. You helped to get me through.

Four months have passed, and I've barely made a dent in the boxes of books to be listed on the website. Working my way through, but they seem to be multiplying.

The last books have been moved, the final bookshelf has been disassembled. The carpet is cleaner than it has been in years, and the store is completely empty. It has been a wonderful 23 years, but it's time to move on. Our garage (and a storage unit) are filled to the edges with boxes of books to be listed on the website. One week of resting, then I'll get going on adding thousands of books. Keep an eye out for additions weekly (if not daily!) Wow - Three days of morning to night hard work, and still thousands of books to go. Very BIG thanks to all of our friends who have been helping with the books. The invite to teachers and schools still stands - FREE children's books for your libraries!! Bring boxes, and grab a few while they last. Starting at 10:00 am tomorrow morning, and continuing as long as we need to.

The rain has passed, hopefully for at least a few days, and Long-Lost Friends has entered the final week of our close-out. Sales have been great, but you couldn't tell by looking at the shelves - they are still full, and I still have boxes and boxes of books to bring to the store. We are now at 60% off on all used books (except collectibles) and 10% off on new books and collectibles. Don't pass up on a great chance to grab some great reading.
